Celia loves color and pattern and has spent her art life figuring out ways to play with and show them off. She graduated with a degree in printmaking in 1977 from UNC- Chapel Hill but soon found herself making mixed media drawings. Her first group show at the Collectors Gallery at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh, N.C. began a career of group and solo shows. Highlights include a Visual Artist Fellowship from the N.C. Arts Council in 1995-96, first place in painting at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Coconut Grove, Fla. in 1990 and a judges Merit Award at the Festival of the Masters at DisneyWorld in Orlando, Fla. For a number of years she was represented by Hodges-Taylor Gallery and later by Jerald Melberg Gallery, both in Charlotte, N.C. She currrently is employed as a textile designer for Springs Global in Fort Mill, S.C.
Celia considers herself blessed and fortunate to be an artist and delights daily in the beauty of color and creation. She knows any gifts she has are God given and her passion is sharing them with others.
